About Me, Pamela
My interest in this work began in 2008 when I accompanied friends during the birth of their daughter and again in 2010 for the birth of their son. These experiences, as well as the adventure of welcoming my own child, led me to pursue a calling that has proven to be both inspiring and humbling. It is a sincere honour to help families during this pivotal time in order to empower them to thrive on their own terms.
I provide birth and postpartum doula services in Victoria, BC and surrounding areas. I'm a prenatal class instructor at the Mothering Touch Centre and I'm also available to teach privately in your home. I live in Fernwood with my partner and our young son (pictured below). I divide my time between working as a doula and working as an artist. |

My Approach
My philosophy is simple - I want to optimize your birth and/or postpartum experiences in ways that make sense for you.
Birth and parenthood are profound and transformative. More than simply events in our lives, they are passages that connect us to the past, present and future. They are also complex, messy, scary, incredible, joyous, frustrating, hilarious and sleep-depriving. In fact, just insert any adjective and it probably applies to the rich journey of parenthood. Having knowledgeable, open-minded support along for the ride can really make a difference. |
