How I Help After Your Baby Arrives
Welcoming a baby into your life is a joyful time. It's also a major adjustment; it involves many challenges and a steep learning curve. These days, many families find early parenthood an overwhelming and isolating experience, especially for the new mother. This is a time of life that requires extra practical help, emotional support and reserves of strength.
As your postpartum doula I provide in-home help and companionship during the weeks after the birth/arrival of your child. My support is customized to the needs of your family and varies from client to client. In general, here are the kinds of services I provide:
My goal as a postpartum doula is to eventually work myself out of a job. I want to ease your transition into life as a new (or bigger) family so you are empowered to thrive into the future. Pamela knows as much about the care and feeding of new parents as she does about little ones, and that made the first three months of our son's life remarkably relaxed and enjoyable. I recommend her to everyone who asks. She's dependable, reliable, and solid as a rock. |
Postpartum Doula FeesI serve families during the daytime (9am-5pm) on weekdays in Victoria, BC and surrounding areas.
Hourly rate for postpartum service is 30.00/hr. Minimum 3 hour service applies to all visits. Different families have different needs - I can visit once, twice, three or more times a week. A doula is the greatest gift you could give a new mom. Pamela helped me with everything from running errands for me to running errands with me, from entertaining my older child so I could focus on the new baby to holding my new baby so I could give attention to my older child. Pamela helped me keep my head straight and helped me catch my breath. My only regret is that I didn't have a postpartum doula for my first-born! |
